Arvind, a pilot, and Muhilan, an engineer, were grounded during the pandemic. Neither had ever cut hair professionally.

Mont Kiara rents were high. A shop lot was out of reach. So in 2021 they bought a retired Mercedes-Benz — a pink Rapid KL bus from the 80s that had spent the 90s shuttling schoolchildren — and turned it into a barbershop instead.

They welcomed their first customer on 8 May 2021. Ten days later the MCO shut them down. They re-opened on 22 August 2021 and have been cutting ever since.
